HES Seeks Volunteers for New Holiday Wellness Challenge Pilot

MIDLAND, Mich. – Sept. 5, 2018 – HES — world leader in workplace well-being challenges — offers wellness professionals the chance to test and provide feedback on the recently revamped online employee wellness program, Health for the Holidays. The 1-week pilot is open to the public and will take place September 10-16 with registration beginning September 5.

“HES well-being challenges have the opportunity to touch millions of lives, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly,” notes Dean Witherspoon, HES CEO and founder. “That’s why we seek feedback from wellness managers as well as the public — it’s vital that we both hit the mark with users and meet the needs of wellness programs of all sizes.”

Health for the Holidays participants log daily behaviors, “painting” a breathtaking winter scene along the way. The more activities (like staying active, choosing healthy foods, and showing gratitude) they log, the richer the painting becomes. In addition, they’re surprised with daily Gift Box behaviors, prompting participants to do simple things that contribute to a brighter, more cheerful outlook.

“The experience we’ve created with Health for the Holidays differs from any of our other programs, and we’re excited to share it,” adds Witherspoon. “During the season, people don’t want to be lambasted with lists of dos and don’ts. They want to focus on getting through the holidays a little happier and healthier, and that’s what this challenge will help them do.”

Health for the Holidays pilot participants will have several opportunities to win fun prizes by logging daily behaviors and engaging with other users. HES encourages participants to invite coworkers, friends, and family to join and provide honest feedback, which is then used to polish and enrich the challenge.

“Many wellness managers shy away from holiday programs, fearing lack of interest and declining participation during a busy season,” explains Witherspoon. “Health for the Holidays participation is on par with our other non-holiday wellness programs ― debunking that theory. And we firmly believe that self-care amidst chaos is the key to fostering sustainable behavior change.”
