Prism Terms of Service
Effective: July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Prism, the connection service provided by Health Enhancement Systems (HES) that links your Google Health account to the HES wellness challenge(s) you participate in.
Prism is not a standalone challenge — it’s the connector that makes step data available to the HES challenge you’re using. Your use of that challenge is separately governed by that challenge’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. These Prism Terms apply specifically to the data connection itself.
General Conditions
HES reserves the right to:
- Alter these Terms of Service at any time. If the alterations constitute a material change to the Terms of Service, we will notify you by email. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion, in good faith, and using common sense and reasonable judgment.
- Refuse or revoke Prism access to anyone for any reason at any time.
Eligibility and Conduct
- You must be 13 or older to use Prism.
- You may not use Prism for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. (International users agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct.)
- You must not modify, adapt, reverse-engineer, or hack Prism, or misrepresent your website or service as affiliated with HES or Prism.
- You must not transmit any worms, viruses, or destructive code through Prism.
- You must not, in your use of Prism, violate any laws in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to copyright laws.
The Data Connection
Prism connects to the Google Health API to retrieve step data on your behalf and make it available to your connected HES challenge(s). By connecting Prism, you authorize HES to access this data through Google’s OAuth process, subject to the Prism Privacy Policy.
- Prism depends on the continued availability and accuracy of the Google Health API. HES does not control Google’s service and is not responsible for interruptions, inaccuracies, or changes to data availability that originate from Google’s platform.
- If Google modifies, restricts, or discontinues the Google Health API, HES may need to modify, suspend, or discontinue Prism‘s functionality accordingly. HES will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users of material changes.
- Your use of Prism is also subject to Google’s own applicable terms and policies governing your Google Account and the data it holds. HES is not a party to your relationship with Google.
Connection and Disconnection
- You may disconnect Prism from your Google Health account at any time through your challenge Settings, or by revoking access directly through your Google Account.
- Prism‘s connection to a given challenge is automatically disconnected within 30 days of that challenge site going offline, consistent with the Prism Privacy Policy.
- HES may suspend or terminate your Prism connection if you violate these Terms.
Disclaimer
Prism is provided “as is” for the limited purpose of connecting your Google Health data to your HES challenge. HES makes no warranty regarding the completeness or accuracy of step data retrieved through Prism, to the extent that data originates from Google’s platform or your connected device.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HES and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of Prism, including damages resulting from interruptions, inaccuracies, or unavailability of data caused by Google’s platform or your connected device.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HES harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of Prism.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
